I was at the range this weekend with the M305 and I was having issues with double feeding and sometimes it would eject the spent cartridge and the new one at the same time. Also the last round would pop from the mag and sit there with the bolt held back.

I tried to push in the feeding lips of the magazine but it didn't seem to help. I'm using some 5/20 mags that I got with the rifle and some that I bought from Marstar.

Any ideas?

Thanks

There could be some binding of the mag spring on the pop rivit .
Pop off the bottom plate half way so you can see inside of the mag .
Try it on a good one and compaire it to a bad one, see how many coils are above the rivit.
I am just guessing at this, but it could be the problem.
Good luck let us know what you find .

I have rivetless mags that work perfectly no binding. I don't know where they come from it came with the rifle.

I'll be looking for this for sure. Bc all the mags I have are riveted to 5.

I'm open to any suggestions at this point.

Same. My rifle is 2009. The OEM mag and extras have no rivets.

Never had an issue with any of them.

OP: If you want one of mine, PM me, don't need three anymore, you can have one for the price of shipping.

I have 2 mags that I had the same issues with. I bent the feed lips down and in very slightly with a rubber mallet and it fixed the problems for me.

I think I found my problem.

Here is a picture of the mag springs the short one is from a good mag.

Also i had marked the ones i got with the rifle and the extra ones i got from Marstar and the ones from Marstar are the ones giving me problems. The rivets are kinda messed up.

So should i cut the extra springs off?

LOL!!!
You got what apears to be a 25 round mag spring in a 20 rounder mag???
LOL!!!
But it's not the sping I don't think but infact it's the rivet messing around with the sping when it is decompressing. Under cycling of this this rifle platform the magazine actually rocks a bit in the magwell that factored in with a long rivet will cause FTF issues with one's rifle. Thus why everyone likes the follower to be tabbed instead of riveting them due to this and other issues.

So changing the follower and cutting the rivet(s) would solve the problems..

Thanks!

except you can't buy just a follower with the extra length, and if you cut the rivet without the follower change you create a 'prohibited device'.

i suggest you try depowering the springs by clipping them (you can get springs alone) and ensuring they are seated properly (not hung up) on the rivet first.

Can you post pictures of the magazines? The two that I had that gave me issues were Korean made and brand new when I got them. I had to rivet them. The rivet did kind of interfere with the spring when I reassambled them after riveting them. But my problem was solved by some minor adjustments to the feed lips on the mag.
Try putting one round in the mag then push down on the round and follower and let it spring back to the top and tell me if the round pops out of the mag? or smack the mag against a table pretty good. Thats what mine where doing which is why I came to the conclusion that the feed lips needed some adjustment. (That and they were cheap Korean mags)
