Let me start by saying I am pretty much strictly an IS guy. Don't like scopes unless a large degree of precision is needed. I am looking to switch out the sloppy and misaligned sights on my new M14 for something better. What is out there for quality iron sights? Don't give a #### if it's USGI as long as it is high quality. Don't know Jack about M14 so any info is appreciated. :cheers:
 
I've only ever seen used or old stock, GI source rear sight assemblies, whether they are from an M14 or M1 Garand. A bunch of us bought Garand rear sights from a guy in Italy on ebay for around $50 bucks a piece. They fit perfectly, are much higher quality, but have a slightly different finish to them. You can buy new NM national match rear apertures from a number of retailers. They are around $30.00 usd and give you a finer rear peep and ability to make a 1/2 moa change by rotating the sight a half revolution.

You can buy new front sights that are better machined and narrower as well. A place called Creedmore sports in the US has all this stuff.
 
That match sight sounds like just what I am looking for. I will look up Creed more sports right away. Sights are definitely the first thing to go on this gun. They look fine, but the front sight is too far right and it is very obvious.
 
yup, lots of good deals on garand rear sights on ebay. I have the actual m14 usgi national match front and rear sight..... I love it.... the aperture is sweeeeeet and the thinner, tapered front blade is just perfect.

You guys that got the rear sights from Italy, about how long did they take to arrive?I have a couple coming one has been about 16 days,should I be looking for it soon
