So I just got my brand spanking new m305 in the mail today "shorty" and after taking it appart and blowing all the cosmoline off with an air compressor everything seemed to go smoothly. I did notice I had to use a little bit of force to remove the receiver from the factory stock but didn't think to much of it. However When I went to reassemble the riffle following the reverse order of disassembly I can no longer seat the riffle in the stock. Now it might just be that I am tired or have too much cosmoline in my eyes haha, but after double and triple checking everything seemed to be in its place and everything with the gun seems normal. However the receiver just will not sit right and there is a noticeable gap between it and the stock, about 3 millimeters.
Now I know that I do not have a magical second m305 that I just happened to mix up the stocks with... I wish! Haha. But this definitely seems like a problem. I checked in the stock and a small bur formed on the receiver seat and I knocked that off with a small chisel to smooth it out but still no joy. I don't really want to monkey around too much with filling as I tend to go way overboard and since it fit when I got it I don't see why It can't fit now!
Any suggestions from anyone knowledgeable on these guns would be very helpful! Thank you!
