M305 Vertical Strings *Updated on page 3*

Hi! I have had this problem happen to me a while back, when I has reloading for my target .303. A friend of mine who is a 600 yrd shooter took one look at my ammo and
and told me that my problem was, that I still had some sizing lube on my brass...
I cleaned them up with solvent; problem solved... It seems that the case and chamber
has to be completely dry for a consistent grip...I don't know if this is of any help to you.

So I tried with the gas off with no luck. Same issue.

I took it all apart and was thinking of what you guys said about the gas lock. I turned it around as it was tight at 5oclock and needed to be tapped to get 6.
I flipped it so I tightened at 7oclock and loosened a bit at 6.

4x 5 shot groups all about 1" at 100 now. Nice to know that it was just the gas lock, and my fault too.

Seems to have fixed the problem where brass was jamming in the Sadlak too. The brass is extracting a bit more controlled now. It was really whipping them hard before and some were bouncing off the mounting and jamming in the receiver. Was kinda scary as I thought I might get an out of chamber firing as it was jamming just as the action was closing and enough that if I didn't notice the jam I could still pull the trigger and it would try to fire.

I gotta load some more bullets now.

If you do not hold your eye and head in EXACTLY the same place every time your point of impact will change. A small difference up and down with your eye will give you fits. Without a cheek rest to keep your head in the same place it does'nt take much to throw off the aim, especially up and down.
