I've seen quite a few M14's over the years an nobody's #### has fallen off.
BUT (big but here) that bolt raceway looks rather dry and needs a bunch of grease on it. If you don't have a grease syringe (yet), then dab grease with a Qtip or the end of a chopstick (for you Asian types) or your pinkie finger. ANY grease, but lay on the grease:
* bolt raceways top and bottom
* bolt lugs x 2
* op rod guide (figure 8 thingy under the barrel and handguard)
* op rod that slides through the guide
* bolt roller housed in the op rod hump, just rack the op rod back 1/2" or 1"...you will see it
* hammer face when bolt rides BACK upon firing; the bolt's rearward motion cocks the hammer for the next shot
I sell the grease syringes at my clinics, but you can always find replacement style syringes at Farm Supply stores, Lee Valley Tools, East Hastings alleyway by ANY dumpster, Toronto's Beaches, Jarvis Collegiate (Jarvis St in Toronto) Playing field... far side of the running track, just don't steal them from the biohazardous disposal yellow bin next time you visit the hospital... one never knows what lies at the end of that needle if you get stuck.
Hope this helps,
Barney
