A few years ago in an attempt to build up spares, I purchased from the present Ithaca Gun Company a brand new butt stock for my circa 1971 20 gauge, in case of damage.
Well, I outright forgot they changed the style of butt stock to pretty much mimick the one on the newest 28 gauge.
Really I don't mind the recoil pad as it could prevent your shotgun from slipping on a harder surface with the older hard plastic butt plate. And I shoot the 28 quite naturally.
But I wonder if the hardware (thru bolt & washer) is on the same dimensions as the 1971 style?
