I'm still waiting to find out if it has a Swedish army issue bottle opener in the buttstock. :D

On a serious note...without pics it's kind'a hard to give you a price on the rifle.
Even a krayon drawering would help. :D

Also some places they will sell for more then others.

As a ball park...
I paid around $250.00 for mine in Good condition.
Minty conditioned ones approx $400.00.

Is it a 96, 0r a 38?

If its a Husqvarna, its a 38, unless it is one of the rare 96s assembled by Husqvarna for target shooting.

Yes Triiag it is a Husqvarna M38 bent bolt rifle,standard sights. I am sure the sling is as old as the rifle with Bayonet(no frog) I would say very good condtion some minor dings in wood,bluing worn on floorplate and crown,good sharp rifling

Here in my neck of the woods the MNR incourages the thinning of feral cats due to livestock health and Natural wildlife predation,due a search here on CGN I am not the only one.If people would care for their pets (spay and neuter)and take their unwanted animals to a proper shelter and not dump them off in the country we would not be infested with these animals.I apolagize to you and anyone else that are affended,I should have left the cat part out of my post,but believe me these animals are a serious problem to livestock owners

FWIW, I believe the bayonets are going for $35 in very good condition at a CGN dealer. I would put the rifle at $300 if in very good condition, sling at $20 or so. The package for $300-$350 would probably sell.

You might consider keeping the Swede around. It's really hard to beat the 6.5x55 for slaying deer even with open sights. You can even put mojo sights on the rifle or even a forward no drill and tap scope mount.

Does it have a clip buckle on the end?

Either way unless you are in love with another rifle, and need the cash, I'd hang onto your Swede, and take good care of Her, the 6.5x55 cartridge is a good one, and performs well, vs pretty much anything in North America.

brass buckle on forend and a brass button through the butt stock end,certainly not a newer strap but still rather in decent condtion.I do know the 6.5x55 is a great deer round ,but the rifle is a tad heavy to cart around in the bush and the sights are not the best for quick sighting,although the Mojo sights would be a great improvement

O.k O.K Canuck I was trying to steer this away from the cat thing........But DAMN that is just too darn funny:D I will likely post the rifle on CGN in the near future,seem to have a need for a CZ452.17HMR varmint.Not really a Milsurp collector,somebody will certainly like to have this old Swede in their collection,will get pics, as my skill with crayons and fingerpaints just is not what it shoud be;)

I took my first Mule deer this October with a full military m96/38 with a Leupold 3x9 mounted on it. Don't worry guys, it's a non matching parts gun that was already drilled and tapped before I got it.

I found that if you carry it close to your body, almost cradled against your chest that it was suprisingly easy to handle.
 
Look on the bright side of things...cats mean no rats.
and rats carry far worse things then anything a cat will.

Like bubonic plague for starters...which is common in North American rats, and squirrels.
Critters aside...

For value sake, avoid cutting anything off this rifle, and save all the original parts that you do swap with the Mojo sights. :)

But on the dim side ,wild cats also mean no local quail,cottontail and songbird:mad: .etc .I poison rats I won,t poison cats as a bullet is way more humane,like I said if people would care for their pet cats and have them spayed and neutered and take the unwanted animals to a proper shelter(where my daughter got "Joey")and not dropping litters of kittens on country roads (I have seen 2 cardboard boxes with kittens sitting by them on the side of the road in the last 3 years),we would have no problem Calum.It boils down to urban attitude vs rural,so who is worse the idiots that dump the animals off to fend for themselves most times not even weined off their mothers or the people that have to deal with them,townfolks think we are monsters for ridding the wild cats when they are the pricks that put them here in the first place.By the way Calum this rifle is not going to have anything cut(or have can openers,flashlights or pitchforks:rolleyes: ) installed as I would rather give it to a collector then sell it to a "BUBBA"

Some folks suck.

About the only other thing about this Swede is the cost off ammo.
Mind you this cartridge reloads nice.

And I'm sure there are reduced gallery load recipes for it so you won't blow holes in your barn. :D

Bellier&Seller or whatever the name ammo is fairly cheap(Disticorp),I reload so cost really isn,t a issue.For god sake you don,t let the ole Swed bark off "IN" the barn or I would be trading the urban folks their cats for my stampeding cattle:D
