Lucky you! Crappy Post changed my arrival date to tomorrow.
Got my rifles today! They are all in excellent shape except for the 91/30. It had a small gouge in the stock on one side. Not too worried though as I already have one and plan on selling it. Pics to come soon!
They just change mine to friday... Phuck Them
How was the vz24? Did it come with a sling?
I am very happy to hear this I hope I am as lucky as you!I wonder why mine was shipped UPS and everyone else seems to have been Canada Post?...might have something to do with it.
The VZ24 is in great shape and is a gorgeous rifle. Beautiful wooden stock. It came with an ammo pouch and bayonet with scabbard but no sling. It appears the Czech crest on the receiver was ground off during the refurb process too.
My M38 is my favorite though. Numbers matching, no electro pencil or restamped parts. Its a 1943 Izzy in a proper M38 wartime stock. For some reason the serial number on the receiver as well as the sight increments appear to be filled in with some sort of orange paint?
Just got mine and not opening until 'the blessed day' for the fun of it! Traded off my m44 3 years ago for $150 and kicking myself ever since. It was one of the Tradeex $169 ones and a few weeks later the shop I traded it to sold it for $300!
I had a m44 for a bit and sold it after 2 range trips, I like my 91/30 and svt40 a lot more, I don't see what the hype is all about with the carbines. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with them but I just don't understand why you guys go all crazy over them
Carbines are cool.
Fireballs are cool.
Loud noises are cool.

That about sums it up, also just a powerful round in a shorter lighter more ###y package.
I understand , I got a similar condition mosin from sf rc this fall and couldn't sell it fast enough. But to be fair to tradex wen you read the vz24 description it does say that the crest is partially removed.I got the 5 pack.
The mosin and the VZ 24 were in horrid condition. VZ handguard had stock repairs galore and the Rampant lion on the reciever was scrubbedThe rest of the stock is good though. The mosin was so beat up, it wasnt even funny. Gouched, dented, 50% finish left. I was under the impression that they were all supposed to be in excellent condition...
The M38 was great. In m44 stock, not counter bored 1943 ishy and gorgeous. Nice tight bolt on her. The SkS rifles were great. Got an all matching Tula hardwood 1956!!!! Super rare.
May post some pics soon. I was 3/5ths satisfied. If the mosin was in decent shape I would have been cool with it. I may send an email to tradex.
I didn't even go into it being a milsurp, or cheap surplus ammo.
