M38

My M38 just came in the mail and I took it all apart to clean. I expected to see import marks under the top handguard, but there were no import marks anywhere. ( import marks as in the letters saying that what rifle it is and caliber it is etc etc.)
It was made in 1943 and it is in a M44 stock.

It really depends on where it came from. If it came through the Ukraine or Poland, I wouldn't expect to see import marks on it. That only tends to come on ones directly from Russia (it's a Russian export rule, not a Canadian import rule).

As for the M44 stock... Most of the M38's seem to have them, as that was what was available when they went through the refurb process after the war.
