is there any kind of mount for a 39 that requires no permanent changes to the rifle. my club recently had a "millsurp" rifle shoot and i have a hard time making accurate shots with how thick the front post is. half the rifles others were using had diopter sights or new scopes. i know there is the jmeck option but that requires removing a bit of wood. not sure if there is a non permanent solid option. also somewhere i could get a second front post to file down. as always thanks!

I was pretty pissed to be honest. It was Suposed to be military issued rifles. I brang all original stuff and they ended up having almost all sporters with diopters and a scoped shoot with brand new optics. Wasn't easy to compete against with the sights on a battle rifle. Nor would my mosin or svt sniper kept up with the scoped sks's. No other clubs around unfortunately. So if they do it again I would like to at least give it a fair go.

Isn't there a mount that replaces the rear sight on Mosins - there's a groove set up under there, and the mount secures to the grooves. I saw it somewhere (Youtube?) can't remember the details

Accounts makes a M-39 specific mount that is supposed to be OK. I'm not a fan of any of these no drill and tap solutions. None are as solid as a real mount. If your M39 is non-matching or if it's been linked with, it might be a good contender to build an M39SOV sniper clone.

Bolt matches the receiver. 1994 sky. In wonderful shape. Still had cosmo in tbe bore and bolt when I got it so I don't really wanna Bubba it. If I came across one was someone had buggered up I would get a mosin sniper mount and just use the scope from my mosin sniper lol

I think that if you EVER permanently scope an M39, you need to use a PE or PEM scope in a mosin hex receiver mount for the 91/30 PEM sniper rifle. It's the only thing that is "right" on a Finn M39.
