please explain to me how pushing a brush, into a small pipe,(compressing anything in it into the gas block) is considered cleaning?

i have had 1000's of 22 shot through my gun, switched to 223 for a rifle match and ran fine. never ever had to clean the pipe. in fact i don't even clean my rifle. just a quick squirt of lube.
