I wonder what this will do to the price of the CQ's on the EE right now?

Apparently nothing. Asking price is one thing....seliing price is another. A used CQ 5.56 should be going for $600-$650. But hey, guys will be asking > $700 for a parted out upper or >$350 lower on the EE.

The price point of made in America AR-15's has to come down in order to compete...or suffer the consequences.

Unless I'm mistaken, though, Norinco doesn't (can't) sell in the U.S. I doubt the U.S. makers sell enough in Canada for them to worry about 'consequences'. Rest of the world? That might be different.

OK ALREADY, yes we issue PO numbers..........

EVERYONE WHO PREORDERED either got their number "on the spot" or will receive it by e mail....

IF you have not received it by next week just send a note to jim@marstar.ca
but PLEASE use the same name as was given for the order....

John

SNAKE EYES;
Don't worry about the number of them coming in, we sell more than 20 per day, no problem....

Just got my name in, PO #95 at noon on the 13th (Mountain time) and they figured they had enough coming in for another week or so worth of pre-orders so no worries like John said.
On another note, I also did the M14B list as well and got a PO #502 so they are close to or have sold out of those pre-orders.

I'm only referring to merchants in Canada selling AR's. John wasn't selling any and all of a sudden he is selling 20 per day.....how much business is being taken away other AR sellers in Canada (stores and private sales)?

Not certain what the point is here ????

John, I think he means if you're selling 200 M4's, then that's 200 that other retailers didn't sell, and they might have to lower their prices to compete and not potentially lose any more sales.

In other words...competition is good. :)

The pricing is good, yes... but let's not delude ourselves here... these rifles are not "replacements" for Bushmaster, LMT, Colt et al'. And with regard to the US (market) we won't be taking these down south with us when we go, both because of their Chineseness and their shortness (14.5" bbl's)...

There are far more AR's out there in the Canadian wilderness than we might suspect. Do you recall when the CFC posted their registration database searchable by postal code...? When searching my postal code for AR's there were more than 200 records returned (with the interface truncating the results at 200 records, meaning that count is the minimum.)

You would have to follow the conversation to know what was being discussed. The original question was from FarmerHarv above. It's a case of your rifles affecting the sale of AR's in Canada. Hey, I like your move, so do the people who are buying them. No other retailer is going to move their Norinco CQ's at >$900 if you are selling at $700 and you are undoubtedly creating first time buyers who may never had purchased an AR otherwise........and your business must be taking business away from other retailers........just as someone else has said thats competition! Competition is real good. Maybe the price for AR's in Canada is artificially high:cool:.....and just maybe those prices should come down as a result of your stiff competition?. Do I need a fourth AR?

Are they a replacement for other manufacturers like someone else has said. At $700 you bet they are. Not talking about the US market at all either....just the tiny Canadian market.

Matter of opinion I guess, but I somehow don't think Wolverine or Questar are at all worried. As an addition to a collection, sure... like you've said, for a fourth... but as a replacement for my (or any!) Colt 6920 or Armalite M152, or, or, or... you're hittin' the pipe a little too hard there dude. Have you handled one of these Norcs? Sure, they're shooters, and they have a place at the table... but not at the head.

john make them stop!!! no more talk unless it is about the number club or how cool this is. I don't want any "politics" bringing down this special x-mas in june party.

Just so we're clear (and Ithink my posts back this up)... I'm not knocking the Norcs at all... I own two of their rifles, one of their shotguns (which I would trust my life to) and two of their pistols... and at $699.00 I like them even better... they have their place.
