Hey,I picked up an M4 Norinco job,not bad...but has anybody out there that owns one got rid of the ambidectrus(not sure if that is spellt right) selector switch?

I figure I can take the actual peice out by just unscrewing it,but am I going to need washer's to fill the void of the switch..

Sorry, for the poor explanation,if someone has already done this they'll know what I'm, talking about, hopefully.

I'm new still, and I'm not at the posting pictures level yet...

Input is muchly appreciated, Jesse

I took mine off in order to fit a replacement grip. The rifle and safety function just fine without it but you must be careful not to over tighten it when you reassemble things. I would put a washer on it but am not going to go looking too hard for one.

I looked at one (it is on the 'list') and find the lever on the right hand side of the gun interferes with my finger I thought of just cutting off the lever portion leaving the center in place ad just touch it up.

You amy delete,Got what I was looking for...

:agree:Thanks for the help, I'm goin with what you said Darkshadow...logical and easy.

Take it easy,Jesse

Unscrew the right side of the safety lever off, turn it 180 degrees, and reattach it. No cutting required, more comfortable, and I've found it actually makes it easier to flip it back to safe.

What are the specs on that ambi selector? Will they fit into other lowers and function the same way? If so, I'll trade a right only selector for a Norc ambi - straight up.

Hi guys I have a cq and changed the selector to a normal non ambi one. Here is the problem at leased on my gun the hole through the reciever is .390 thou instead of .375 thou so the ambi selector won't fit a regular ar and I had to make a new selector from scratch.
