Got somebody looking at an M4 and figured I’d see what might be some useful upgrades/accessories/etc?

Looks like S&J sometimes offer “upgrade packages” are they any good?

Doubt he’d do the bayonet lug, but maybe a light, laser, or something and a likely breaching choke.

Maybe upgrades favouring cold weather use and plate carrier (Crye) accessories as well, like shell holders.

Decent chance of real world implementation, so durable and price points aren’t such a concern. But not stupid.

How should I help him spend his money?

The must haves are a "combat" charging handle, mag tube extension, and mount for a flashlight. I use the mount that replaces the forward sling attachment point but I am not sure if I like it as it moves quite a bit up and down. There are some other good options out there. Enlarged safeties are also an option, as are the enlarged bolt releases. I don't run an enlarged bolt release but I do have the safety. Most of these are available at Hamlyn Armament Company. Maybe if others have some experience with the enlarged bolt releases they can chime in

If you have the tactical with the adjustable stock, i would highly recommend going to rxarms and buying the 6 position recoil tube. Improves the handling and adjustability in my opinion. Otherwise could get the Mesa Tactical urbino stock which is a really good fixed stock with a limb saver, and has the option for cheek riser.

Got my M4 from the good folks at S&J that came with a pile of goodies (their 1 round extender I put on later but not shown below). I then got Tac Ordinance to install aluminum trigger guard tap out the bolt release, and mill out the loading port. I later put on a Midwest Industries M Lok forearm. I got a surefire flash light on the other side (can't remember the modle # but it takes regular AAA battery)
