I have seen on a couple american site that they have m44 for sale. How hard is it to get one imported here , if possible?

Its not impossible, but good luck with that.

Buy it, ship to "I Run Guns" who is your FFL and wait for import.

Centuary International arms has them and a lot of other neat firearms too.I was just on their site and you can open up the consumer price catalogue on the right hand side of the home page.Possibly I RUN GUNS COULD HELP US MILSURP FANATICS OUT! They were in Canada years ago but our draconian gun laws drove them back across the border.I remember they had Spanish FR8 [ Mauser bolt rifle ] for a very reasonable price but I was complacent and the gun laws changed and to this day I have the bayonete and sling and no FR8. meh!

Exactly what draconian gun laws are you talking about here specifically? Imports have been doing fine.

Found a few type 53 Chinese mosins for $99 bucks. Maybe that would be worth importing?

It'll be $200 per rifle to import. You can get a Russian Or Polish M44 for that money (or close to it).
