m44 russian $195 at collector source

Just had mine out shooting. What a blast!

Definitely sighted with the bayonet extended. If it was folded, the poi shifted to the left

Will post targets and vid in the next few days

Considering we've seen excellent refurb SKS's and SVT's for $150 and $200, and Steyr M95's for $139, and Mosin 91/30's for $150ish so yeah, beat, mismatched, worn M44's are $99 rifles.

IMO these look like $99 rifles.

You may want to reconsider your valuation due to the supply at hand. You can buy SKS and SVT's by the crate and are as common as a Tim Horton's coffee. M38's and M44's were quite rare and now CS is sold out. Very few M44's left unless you want to pay $399 at a few sponsors. Good luck buying any firearm for $99. I'm certain these would fetch more money on the EE than $195, if there are not more available.

Great logic, but its not aligned with todays market and availability.

So mine arrived today and I've given it a very quick look over, only noticed one gash in the stock so I'm quite pleased about that. I have a question though to the others who ordered, what did yours come with? I don't have a cleaning rod (I believe someone had mentioned that earlier in this thread) and was wondering if it was supposed to come with the little tool as well? Anyone have a copy of the original listing? Oh and I'm not complaining, I'm very pleased with what I got, just checking :)

I just got mine today as well. It had a brand new shiny (not blued) cleaning rod and nothing else. The stock has very little damage and I haven't noticed any rust or damage to the metal bits. I've never been happier to smell cosmoline after reading the posts about the rust spots.

Yeah same, mine is covered in cosmoline, had to double check there was a rifle in there. Guess I'll send them an email about the cleaning rod.

Cleaning rod is supposed to be included, as per the description. No mention of the tool was made. My cleaning rod wasn't there, emailed them and one was sent to me in a couple days. Haven't opened the package, but I'm sure it's in there.

You can buy an excellent condition refurbished STV 40 for $200.00? Where?

Cheapest I can see at a sponsor is $289, no guarantees of condition. None of his prices had any basis in reality. If so, he would have provided sponsor's links to prove his point. Every rifle he quoted was more expensive than what he said. The $195 M44's selling out so fast should tell you where the market is.

$399 M44's are being sold in "good condition", 3 left at SFRC.

I'm hoping he posts that $99 link so I can buy a few...

I think it was cowin arms that had them on sale before Christmas. Word spread on CGN and I think we cleaned them out. The SKSs were 159.

I'm pretty sure it was lever arms who had the sale. Apparently a good number of the rifles were in fairly rough condition

Got mine today.A 1945 all ser # are non matching but the stock is decent and cleaning rod looks new the bore is quite good too. It is quite clean and not full of cosmo which is a surprise. The bolt looks well used tho. I will put it through the parts washer tomorrow then give her coat of break-free .I should have got a couple of them.

I could see people being upset about the rust. I thought it was written in the description that there was "no rust" but I could be wrong. To me it seems as if most of these were not arsenal refurbed. I'm also interested in where these rifles came from and I'm not buying the comment that CS doesn't know. I'm not trying to complain at all because I like the rifle I received, I'm just putting my thoughts out there.
Any thoughts, comment?
Happy shooting.

They know where they are from. Everything has to be documented or they would not get into Canada. They just aren't saying. I can understand that. The gun market competition is probably fierce. Quite frankly who cares where they are from. As long as they keep bringing them in :)
