m44 value

I notice that the mosins seem to be in high demand. What's a reasonable price for an m44 in very good condition?

300-350$ would be a fair price for an average one, 400$ might be reasonable for an excellent condition all matching with vg perfect bore.

A Russian (Tula) in cosmo just sold for $175 shipped and was gone in seconds from the EE. A Polish M44 all matching went for $350 and lasted an hour or so. A beat up (read Trench art looking) Hungarian sold for just over $200 after about half a day. A mismatched Hungarian just sold for $250 plus shipping in seconds.

I paid $225 for my unissued polish M44 ('53) in early January. I think, and I'm no expert here, the Russian M44's command more money

Look at RC Kar98ks. Two years ago they were around the $400 when I started collecting, now they are fetching well over $700. I would say that is one heck of a price change and you have the assurance that it won't go back down to lower levels as long as there is some demand.

Demand would have to drop below supply levels. Thing is with milsurps, supply never increases. Only less and less as time goes on. Get em now. Yesterday's prices are staying yesterday.

I've come to the conclusion that if I'm never paying that for one now, I never will. I'd rather a new, unfired Yugo M48 for $450 any day
