Went to the Edmonton gun show and ended up with a M44. I have done a little research and it is a Romanian made M44, 1955 dated. It's missing the cleaning rod but overall very good condition, with a very good looking bore. Need to disassemble it and give it a good cleaning before I take it out.

Would anyone have an idea on how many Romanian M44 were produced? I have looked but can't seem to find much info.

Thanks

Very nice M44, you may want to invest in a spare butt plate so you can epoxy on a 1/2" piece of an old flip flop as a recoil pad.
You'll thank me later.
If you check out and contact Rick Reich you may be able to get a cleaning rod. Don't expect a quick response.

Good deal. They're a fun rifle to shoot. Give it a good cleaning and blast away. I shoot my M44 all the time, they don't need anything extra on the buttpad unless you shoot in your T-shirt all the time. They don't kick that hard.
