Notice the unobtainable M44's are suddenly on the EE again?
Do you suppose folks are trying to dump them before the bottom falls out on their value...if so; too late, lol.
The M38's have made the M44's value plummet somewhat I'm guessing.
Still keeping mine...bought it because I wanted it and it's a conversation starter, not an investment

I'm not feeling sorry for the folks trying to ditch them, as I just like milsurps as a collection; not an investment.
But just my opinion I suppose.
Stay safe

I'll never part with my 44. She has a mint bore and shoots like a fackin' champ!

I'm currently cutting down and setting up a custom 91/30 I bought for $160 though. Picked up a '37 Izzy with a really strong almost excellent bore.

No lazers and plastic nonsense though, it's going to be about a 21" barrel vice the ~29" all original except for the shortened stock and barrel.

More of a project gun. But it's going to be the Mosin that I abuse like a $2 prostitute! :D

I dunno...the m38 can't take a bayonet, so perhaps the segment of the market that loves their guns to have pointy bits will keep demand and prices high?

Love my M44 - she cost me $160 a couple years ago and she's the one gun that allows goes to the range regardless of how many others I'm bringing that day. Even if I'm planning on just being indoors with my handguns all day, she comes along and I take her outside at least once during theday and make some noise
