Watch out, it's coming....
I know nothing about mausers but that is one beautiful rifle. Mint looking.

Nice grain to the wood!
Question. Does it have BK acceptance marks on the parts or a circle with a "v" inside it?
I don't think Mitchells did anything to the M48's they sell.
its a fake!
For 350$ ... I really don't care what they did to it hehe
Pretty sure you can get a non-mitchell for $350...
its a fake!
I really like those Yugos... Looks nice and shoot well. 8mm is a gr8 round !
My bosnian sniper clone with Zrak scope and mounts ( well I think its a clone )
My M48A bought from marstar 2 years ago, she's like new !
For those of us that don't know anything about mausers ...how can you tell?
Becuase it's a Mitchell's.
Thanks 98/29. I can see the BK on the recoil lug. Usually the BK acceptance is on most of the small parts in one place or another. It has a similar function to the German waffenamts on K98k production. Parts that were inspected and passed received the BK mark.
Reason I was asking is because I have a Syrian M48BO that I suspect is an earlier M48 that was scrubbed and refinished to fill up the Syrian order and it has "circle v" acceptance marks on all the small parts. I was hoping your M48 would have the same marks and help out my theory a bit.
I don't want to hijack the thread so if anyone else has a M48, M48A, or M48BO with circle v marks, please send me a pm.
No doubt they are but there are several known variations. For instance, I have a Syrian M48BO with the stamped trigger guard, floor plate, follower, and front band, but I also have a Syrian M48BO with all milled components. BO means without markings but there are Syrian BO's that fit into the M48, M48B, and M48A types. I suspect that the BO's with all milled components are just early M48's scrubbed and refinished. My all milled Syrian's receiver shows what looks like typical grinding marks on the receiver ring like other scrubbed Yugo's have such as the German k98k's they refurbished and scrubbed.I know, for a fact, that all Syrian contract mauser are indeed the M48BO Yugos.
