hey guys, i decided to try and get as tight of a group as i as a shooter am capable with my yugo m48 mauser. i used the sellier & bellot 196gr fmj ammo. predictably, i used the iron sights, benched and at 50m i put 5 rounds into an inch. at 100m the group pretty much doubled to almost 2 inches. my question is: are these groups common for this rifle? can the rifle do better (do i need more practice)?any thought or input would be greatly appreciated. thx guys!!

Well - Its typically the iron sights that limit the accuracy - your results are about as good as it gets. If you improve the sights, and then go to better quality ammo, you may get it down to 1 in at 100 y, with a bit of luck/skill.

I saw a really nice "scout style" mount for m48 on "Chameleon project" webpage on SurplusRifle, here:

The price of the mount (over $100 US) might be a problem, though.

In fact the entire staff was on paid holidays only from Dec 22nd until Jan 3rd.
From Jan 3 to Jan 15 (including week-ends) it's been a mad rush to have some massive renovations completed, system updates put in place, new order and shipping dept , new staff added etc, etc.... All to help serve you, the customer, that much better.
