My efforts to find a replacement extarctor for my M48 were fruitless. I was wondering if a k98 extractor would fit the bill or is there a small difference between the two rifles that would prevent it from working?

It probably won't work as the K98 bolt is longer than the M48 bolt, so the extractor is going to be different as well.

I was asking because I think that my extractor is bent. I notice that whenever I fire the bolt is always a little sticky. Happens with all ammo; commercial and reloads. Even happens when dry firing. The problem never occurs when just firing the action. I noticed that the extractor seems to be a little bent. It became quite obvious when compared to my Swede Mauser. Now that I have some decent pics I hope I can get your guys' opinions.

Notice how the gap between the extractor and bolt body lessens as you move to the rear of the bolt.

That's not bent. Yugo extractors often look that way - no biggie. The Sticky bolt syndrom is something else entirely. Does it do that when the chamber is empty, or just when there is a casing in there?

One cure, believe it or not, is to sit in front of the TV and work the bolt a few hundred times. Don't use a lot of lube- you want the parts to wear together somewhat.

Sticky bolt happens whenever the action is fired, whether I am using ammo or just dry firing for practise the same amount of stickiness is always there. When I just cycle the bolt, either with ammo or without, there is no stickiness.

The action cocks on opening......it sounds totally normal what you are experiencing. If you don't fire it, the striker stays cocked, cycling is easy. When you fire it, the striker gets re-cocked when you open the bolt.
If you don't like it, buy a P14 or 1917 or SMLE or No4......then you can complain about sticky bolt when you try and close it :)
