M57 tokarev not cycling

I just received my M57, I've done a complete strip including the firing pin and hammer group and removed all the grease from it.

When I go to cycle the action sometimes the slide stays open by itself without a magazine or the slid stop being engaged. It seems to bind up on the hammer assembly and I'm not sure why.

If I remove the hammer assembly and re assemble it, i can run the slide without any issues but once I drop the hammer assembly back in I can run the slide 4-5 times and then on the 6 time the slide stays open and doesn't go forward.

At first I thought it might be the disconnector so I took apart the hammer assembly and gave that a good cleaning but the slide still stays open when running the action.

I've done some google searches and all I can find is that it's related to the hole and the safety that's installed for the US Market which doesn't apply to mine as there's no external safety

I'm not sure how it runs with ammo yet as I'm still waiting on the reg certificate in the mail.

Yes the hammer assembly sits flush in the frame, rails on the hammer assembly line up with the rails on the frame.

It isn’t an external safety, it’s the internal magazine safety. Meant to not fire if there is no magazine present. I fixed mine by bringing the safety tab outwards. Most people just snap it off because it causes the problem you’re describing.
