M590A1 +2 mag extension issue ?

Hi i installed my +2 extension and it wont quite hold 7 2 3/4 shells , almost though ? in the package there was a mag tube and spring but no follower ? im using my factory follower . What could be the issue ? is the spring too big or factory follower too big? Any suggestions would be great cheers thanks..

I have an 8+1 590A1 and some brands/loads are longer than others Rio #00 buck for instance and will only hold 7.

It could be a couple things. The follower will sometimes get hung up on the mag ext at the joint where they meet, a quality follower will help stop this. Or it could be the spring is a little too long.

A few things to look at
Compression ratio, stiffness, thickness of the wire OD of the coiled spring, these are all factors that come into play with shotguns spring, well any spring as a matter of fact.
As well as the spring being cut to the right length. any of the above is incorrect for your gun then “sometimes” it can course issues.
A quality spring can be engineered to cover a larger spectrum of models I.E. Remington, Mossberg benelli, but most people use whatever is cheap and available.
