I was just wondering if a stock and barrel from a pushfeed M70 would work with a M70 classic CRF action. If it's not a direct swap, how much work would be required to make the switch?
Barrel threads are the same diameter and pitch, but the breeching is very different. PF barrel is flat faced, CRF is coned, with an extractor cut. Doubt that a carbine or lightweight barrel could be adapted, a standard might be a possibility.
the stocks interchange, as long as they are the same length action and barrel channel of course.
The barrels do not directly interchange. a PF barrel will go on a CRF, but you need to cut the cone and extractor slot, and deepen the chamber. a CRF barrel on a PF you will need to cut the cone off and recut the shoulder and deepne the chamber as well.
