I'm going to be buying a new gun next week and am having a tough time deciding between a new X-Bolt carbon/fluted 30-06 (new) or a used Model 70 stainless Featherweight in 270 wsm, both are the same in price.
X-bolt is kinda modern and cool, like the fluted bbl and it fits me nice. The Model 70 featherweight is a classic gun, love the looks, always wanted a featherweight but doesn't fit as well as the X-Bolt but still feels pretty good.
Of the 2 and only the 2 what would you pick? I'm really interested in what the owners of the X-Bolt carbon/fluted rifles have to say about them.

Cheers!!

FW IMO!
I recently bought a new FN made Md70FW in 270wsm, but I went with the blued barrel, wood/stainless combo just isnt my thing(to each there own)
I love how they shoulder n shoot, and there easy on the eyes...
Beautiful Rifles!

Trust me, You wont be disappointed!

Now that I have a couple kids Id like to have some rifles that I can pass down to them that have some character. I do have some plastic rifles, they shoot well but thats were it ends.

This is the reason for my most recent rash of winchester purchases. I have 2 boys, and need some decent hardware to pass down! They are nice rifles!

Wouldn't that be a Model 70 in 270 WINCHESTER? ;)

.

Thanks Cub for pointing that out!;)

A screamer from the roaring '20s, chambered in a classic from the dirty '30s who needs new fangled shooting poles.

Jack O'Connor dipped a .270 case down into a keg of surplus H4831, filled it to the mouth,....... crunched a 130 grainer down over it and cried.....EUREKA!!!!
