Got one of these coming in the mail:

270 wsm

*Winchester 70 action
*24", Stainless Steel factory barrel
*McMillan SuperGrade stock, Black with Gray speckletone finish, 13.5" LOP, one front and rear sling stud
*1" Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad
*HCR Accurizing with aluminum pillar and glass bedding
*Factory trigger tuned to a crisp 3 pounds
*Fine Bead Blast finish on all metal surfaces

Anyone know anything about these rifles? I wasn't able to find much out there but what I found seemed good enough to give it a try. Interested in thoughts and opinion from those who have tried a rifle from HCR.

Thanks

Ellwood Epps always seems to have a couple on hand, not sure if they're a dealer or whether they're trade ins.

I've only ever handled one and it was a 300WinMag in a McMillan McSwirly stock. Nice rifle, very similar in fit/finish to other top builders like Jarrett, Rifles Inc., etc.

Thanks I just checked their site and see they have a few. Fancier models than what I am getting.

I am glad you bought that rifle, as the last thing I need is a WSM! Good luck with it, should be sweet. Hill Country has a good reputation (its the bedding) but considered a bit spendy for what they do.

Never had a WSM but gotta try everything once I guess. The prices on their website are a bit crazy for sure but I thought that this particular one was a good deal when you price all the extra stuff out, so what the hell.

Range testing will tell if all the hype and the price tag is worth it.
