Anyone have any experience with these?
I hoisted an SPS in .308 at the gun shop today and was quite impressed.
I have had my mind set on an LTR but it's almost twice the price of the SPS.
For a caribou/paper gun, what would I gain with the LTR?....What would I lose with the SPS?

Often if you look around a little, you'll find the info you're looking for. :)

The SPS Varmint isn't the same as a regular SPS rifle. It has a heavy barrel and a different stock. A a caribou rifle it will be heavy, but if you don't mind carrying it, it should do fine.

What would I lose with the SPS?
As far as what is concerned? Features? Accuracy?

The LTR and the SPS Varmint have the same action.
Different stock.
Different finish.
Plain heavy barrel instead of a fluted barrel.

You lose features, but acurracy is arguable according to the few reviews I've seen. It's most certainly accurate enough for hunting, and probably more than accurate enough for most paper punchers.
