So, I was fiddling with a newer 700 Remington with the X-Mark pro trigger, and could not get it down below 5#.

Been hearing about the new "TriggerTech" Remington 700 trigger, so ordered one up to give it a try.

Got it about 4 weeks ago, but was too busy to work on the rifle. Finally, found the time, and installed it.

Wow! this is a very decent trigger at the price cut. I am now at 3#, and as crisp as breaking a glass rod. [could go a bit lower, but this is a hunting rifle]

I liked the original "Walker" trigger, but have little time for the newer offering. I have ordered 2 more TT triggers. :)

Regards, Dave.

I got my X-mark pro down to 2.5-3 lbs by cutting a few coils off the spring under the screw at the front of the trigger....I'm waiting for a trigger tech to become available again, supposedly will be around again in a few more weeks.

Mine runs at 2 lbs on the nose. Any less than that I haven't tried but for my purposes on that rifle it is fine. I put the rifle into a spare with a metal plate butt and smacked it down on a concrete floor to see if it would let off. Of course I had a snap cap in the chamber but it was not needed in this case. Next rifle to wear one will be a 6.5x55 with a ten pound x 30 inch Hart lapped barrel. I have no idea why I built this rifle other than I want to take some very long for me shots at some coyotes and now a few wolves that are appearing in our corner of the woods. Close to 15 pounds with the scope is very stable but way to heavy.

The next build is going to be a 22-250 and I am going to see if I can get the trigger let off down to a pound and still be safe and reliable.

I've got a couple trigger techs. They say 1.5 pounds is the bottom and I agree. I took both of them to a pound and they were not safe. When set exactly at 1.5 pounds they work perfect and don't drop the firing pin no matter how hard a rap on the gun. As to the X mark I've found if you take the screw out of the trigger shoe it can be adjusted like the walker style triggers but the glue they use to lock the screws is a ##### to get off haha

Give the glue a shot of WD-40 and wait 5 minutes....comes right off :)

I just did some work on an Xmark trigger the other night. I just take my torch to the glue for a couple of seconds and the screws come right out.

I replaced one of the trigger springs with a spring kit from Darrell Holland.
