M72 LAW repair, HELP

I am in the process of repairing ( replacing) the u channel rod which opens the front sight, activates the LAW etc. Do I have to cut off the cowling and reglue it on after attaching the channel or can it be done without removing it. Cheers

Is owning one (obviously it's deactivated) even legal?

Lots of owners on this site, for sale in our EE. I’m thinking if they weren’t legal someone would’ve said something by now. An active one would be a different story though.

Yeah unfortunately you have to remove the whole piece on the top which i did with a razorblade cutting the epoxy layer and hours of my time. Epoxy to reinstall it in place. I built one good one out of 2 crappy ones so it is doable just hard work. They were not designed to take apart. While it is open you might want to think about re enforcements to avoid other failures.
