How collectable/valuable/rare is a numbers matching Mosin Nagant M91 made in the USA by New England Westinghouse?
I see one on thegundealer.net website for $249.99.
Is that a good price for this gun?

Sounds like a reasonable price to me. P and S Militaria has them in stock every once in a while, it seems to me they ask at least that much or slightly higher.

They are as collectible as you want them to be. M91s are the only MNs I collect. This NEW is finned one, cleaning rod is bent. They say "matching wood" not "numbers matching", and taking into she is fiinned, bolt and receiver are force-matched if matched at all... Regardless of all cons and most likely mismatching mix of parts from all M91 makers, $250 is very good price...

I was looking at that one, but they never got back to me with better pictures so I forgot about it, and I already have a nice Tikka barreled '91 besides.

Looks like I don't need to worry about it any longer as I called and they said it was sold.

At least you posted up your question, got some answers and are a more educated consumer now. Good luck to you in your quest to find another!! Don't forget, half the fun is the actual quest itself. Cheers

in all likelihood that is why they never got back to me either.

The guns are out there, though. I'm adopting the attitude that I cannot have everything that is interesting (but that I can certainly collect the photos of interesting things), and that the right rifle will present itself at the right time, and for the right price.

Hi

Here are some pictures of the New England Westinghouse that was at the gun dealers

The target is at 100yards

The rifle was finned; this is the trigger (the trigger works very well, 2 stage not real heavy)

the stock is in nice shape, the is the "english contract mark"
