Seems like a pretty standard M91

I am guessing that this mark on the receiver means that it was a Imperial m91 and the captured

Not to sure what these marks mean

Nice spliced stock

Anyone care to explain the sight system on these units?

Also I noticed the previous owner seemed to have some issues taking the front barrel bands off, I noticed that the pin on one side seems to stick out a lot more as well so I would like some suggestions as to how i can fix this without damaging the stock .

Your M91 was like likely captured by finland after ww1. The spliced stock is a finn replacement. The number on left side of rear sight are the old russian arshin, 1 arshin= 71.12cm. The finn punched the number and wrote news numbers on the right side wich are in meters. Your rifle was rebarreled by Tikka in 1942. The stock bands can be tricky to remove, and keep note that the screws of the bands are reverse threaded, so dont mess them up, thoses bands are somewhat hard to find. There's also small wood screws, in the stock just in front of the bands to secure the bands in place. The price you paid for is good since M91 are not as plentiful now unlike the M91/30. How's the bore looking? With good bore, the M91 is a very fine shooter. You have a nice rifle:)

Bore is good, I would rate 7/10 and that may just be crud in the barrel.
With a good cleaning, most milsurp bores look better than the first look. I forgot to mention, the screws on handguard bands are capture, as i said earlier, reverse threaded so you turn them clockwise and the band will open but the screws wont come of the bands so be careful to not broke them.

Izhevsk Arrow in Triangle and Arrow and Bow marks on floor plate and hand guard. Not sure about 'K' and other mark in the wood.

Take it apart and check the bottom of the tang for the receiver date and manufacturer. Probably Izhevsk too.

Mosinnagent.net and 7.62x54R.net are your friends.
