Thanks guys, here are the facts, I'm within SAAMI specs, Hodgdon calms their loading data is safe for old mil-surps, my rifle and brass case show no sign of pressure. no access to chrono - therefore no muzzle velocity, but from ballistic calculation, (47gr H4831SC & 140gr Sierra GK) is around 2700fps.
I'm comfortable with the load, I worked up from 43 grain with 1gr increments, other than 47gr, other loads shoot 2'' at 200m, and 47gr shoots 1'' at 200. I'm staying with the load
seems like the moral of this thread is, if you have a 100 year old rifle, be cautious and have fun.
