Any of you guys out there with an R/A M96, I need some input. I've never fired one but I am thinking of trading a SAGE'd M305 for one. I have 2 Sages and want to diversify. It is the Grey that will be going. If I decide to do a deal I will post on the EE, but I would appreciate your observations.:)

PS: At this time I am not thinking of parting the Sage out:( That is, unless I decide to buy a JAE-100:p

i've only heard complaints from non-owners. all the owners i've heard from love theirs. i myself would love to get one. been looking in the states for a nice cheap one.

There was a carbine for sale on the M96.org forum for $975 don't know whether its still up for sale. Also in the same thread a recent post from ar15.com showed up. Here's the link.

Who knows? Maybe I'll just sell the Sage and look for more deals like the one above.

Bartok 5 has nothing but good things to say about his - he got one of the first ones in the country so apart from his professional opinion (which is pretty considerable) he's been playing with longer than anyone. Nuff said.

Many thanks for the feedback guys. I really appreciate it. It has come to my attention through PMs that RA is now concentrating on the XCR. No more new M96's for the forseable future. Bummer. Guess I'll sell the Sage and hope to get a deal somewhere for the M96

He did have 1 with a barrel fly off ~4K round count, then his replacement he told me fitting wasn't as good as the first. Felt some play with the barrel..

I had an M96 and I loved mine.Never had a problem with it.

The only Modifaction I had to make was the upgraded bolt tail carrier, which was covered by warranty to all older M96s.

The big plus is that it takes AR15 mags, and is unrestricted (unless you get the carbine version which is restricted). The reciever is all stainless steel construction.

Robarms Customer service was great.I had their production manager call me twice regarding the tail carrier upgrade to make sure it got sorted out.:D

I sold it off as it sat in my safe while I played with the M14s.

All in all it is a very nice well built unrestricted .223 military style rifle.

I do regret selling it now & then.I may pick one up again at some point.....

SKBY.

I bought one when they were first offered, the serial number is way under 1000. I have shot the piss out of it and have never had a hiccup out of it. The only thing I have had the factory do to it was the bolt carrier and trigger group safety upgrades. Oh and I replaced the recoil spring with the current stainless version. Super reliable and FUN FUN FUN :D
