M96 worth?

Sporter in good shape with a factory proofed barrel; 400-450; 550 would be for an exceptional example in 30-06; with a factory built sporter stock in walnut and good quality sights.

One in Military configuration, $600-$1200 depending on matching parts, quality of stock and "newness of condition"
 
Well - This is a classic case of trying to recoup on upgrades to a milsurp based sporter. Bare rifle - 300$, new trigger - 100$, scope and rings - 250$. Unfortunately, these things rarely work out. OP could keep the scope for another rifle, and probably do a more palatable deal for both parties.
 
I appreciate the feedback from everyone! Even when they aren't exactly what I wish I would of gotten. Hey, I came here for opinions and that's what I got! hehe

I had originally paid 450$ (+tx and shipping) just for the rifle back in 2009. It was already sporterized when I bought it. Hard to swallow pill that just for the rifle, it has lost that much value. All the extras I bought for myself, knowing full well I'd never recoup that money, but appreciating the after market trigger, the new recoil pad, etc.
