Has anyone ever measured the maximum oal (touching the lands) of a reload in their military surplus m96 rifle?

If so, which bullet did you measure and what number did you get?

According to my records, in one of mine, a 140gr Hornady touches the lands at 3.175".

I measure 3.257 to the lands with a Stone Point guage and a 142gn Matchking HPBT so I guess you can make as long as you want (so long as they grab enough bullet and fit in the mag).

I load 120 gr. Nosler balistic tip bullets to 3.172" and am not touching the lands.
