Any Canadian sources on Mauser 8mm stripper clips?
Will Swedish Mauser clips not work? They’re fairly common and cheap up here and I’ve found them to work with a fair number of different cartridges. They may not fit your receiver cutout though. Could be worth a shot for $3.
Swed clips may be worth a shot. I don’t really need them it’s for a 9.3x62 just curious if it works more than anything.
98 action uses 98 clips
96 action uses 96 clips
It's the action type, not what it says on the barrel
Not exactly.
There is 4 main types of Mauser clips.
No bump, the first design commonly used on the 1889 Mausers and 1891 Argentine Mausers as well some rifles retrofitted for them such as the M1909 Argentine Mausers.
Two bump, the second design, commonly used on the M1893 Spanish Mausers.
Two bump Swedish, bigger than the standard 2 bump design but otherwise the same. Used in the M94 Swedish rifle variants (M94 carbines, M96, M38). Also works very well in the Arisaka rifles
Three bump, used in most M98 actions unless they are set up for a earlier standard of stripper clip (such as the Argentine M1909).
It is important to know which Mauser variant specifically your working with to know which type is needed.
