From what I understand the reason the military specs 7075 had nothing to do with strength or reliability but corrosion during the Vietnam war...the originally manufactured 6061 M-16 were corroding in the jungle environment...

All I know is that I have 4 NEA AR15s and all have WELL in excess of 10k round count and the uppers haven’t worn out.

I think you get bogged down in theory while ignoring the practical.

There's lots of info on the MDI end as they have been producing Receiver sets for quite a while, not so much from BLC yet, and why the discussion about the material instead of other details.

I sold it to some guy out west named Mike but from my vague recollection the magwell looks the same.

I've never had the screw loosen on my SLR's but I do like the Coyote design. It needs the steel insert.

Maccabee SLRs have a tight fit and seem to work great with various calibers. If I were to start over it would be a maccabee because I wouldnt wanna wait with all the political garbage happening these days.
