Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

And yet no info on the potentially big fly in the ointment. The FRT references a “removable trigger pack” and the receiver seems short on trigger pin holes.
What’s up with that? I might spring $1000 if it gets my AR15 out of jail, but not if I need to drop another $3-500 on the trigger because only brand x super trigger will fit.

My understanding is they use a self contained trigger pack that drops in. My guess is not proprietary triggers, but a frame that holds the trigger pack and drops into the lower. That would explain why the lower appears wider around the trigger group. Possibly proprietary length pins similar to the AR180B to get that much more difference from the AR15 to assure non-restricted status.

Makes sense to me and is actually kind of genius.

Tagged for interest. Looking forward to seeing more info and the actual specs. I would for sure be in for a receiver set provided it’s under 1k! Would be nice, could get rid of an AR and another .223 rifle and just have this for range and coyotes!

I’m okay with the price provided these are high quality and truly 100% compatible with all AR stuff.

For the people who know what it costs to machine something like this upper/lower combo and think these are overpriced...

What percentage of the stuff you design and prototype has to then go in a black box for anything from one to three years, at the end of which you may simply be told "you can't make this and everything associated with it is now worthless"?

That's what you're paying for. Not just machine time.

that is exactly what I was thinking they did. To get away from the MH / MV criticism of not being able to change the trigger out for something else. I'm also hopeful they made the upper the serialised part.

I don’t mind the high prices. It keeps the volume down, and hopefully out of the eyes of the Liberals so they don’t do anything crazy with new gun laws, if it works like that. Maybe a small but vibrant Black Rifle NR market is the best for us.

you need to think like the lowest form of survival, numbers are your friend, just like zebras, the lone zebra is the first to go...

I bet you aren't alone in having spare parts lying around!

I know I could put one together just by buying a few smaller parts, a barrel, gas tube and block and a buffer and tube. I have take off handguards, lower parts, spare BCG's etc.

Even without spare parts, I think someone could build a decent rifle for around $2000

i have a 10 inch kac rail sitting around somewhere as well, and I think a seekins prevision compensator, this is shaping up into something interesting like a franken mk12

well well I guess its not for sale anymore

SO are they actually serious about charging $1000 CAD for just the stripped upper and lower ?! or is the price not set yet?
