Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

Estimated delivery date? Why should they care to deliver when promised when you guys have already paid in full?
Exactly why I refuse to participate in a preorder. They're never on time and most times the customer is disappointed with what finally shows up.

I hope that this time at least the disappointment is not part of the delivery.

Good luck guys.

Anyone who has paid in full already is right out to lunch.

This is my first pre-order and the ONLY reason I took a chance was because CSC only charged 100 Canadian pesos to secure the order. $100 to give a new Canadian manufacturer a chance seems fair to me.

I've wanted a BCL102 but I refuse to pay the full price up front.

That being said I did go out and buy the parts needed to build my SLR but nobody forced me to do it. It was entirely my choice and I knew the risk when I did it.

If the SLR gets delayed too long and I do decide to cancel my order, the parts that I have sitting here for it are of no loss because I'll just put them on something else. No big deal.

The only one MacDef is hurting by not delivering on time is themselves.

Received another info update that delivery has again been pushed back to June now due to “manufacturing issues “.

As per Maccabee's Instagram post, it appears the hold up was due to the material supplier (or lack thereof).

Here is hoping no more hang ups happen and late June is truly the time frame (not hopeful or holding my breath though)

As someone who has been waiting a very very long time for a NR platform that takes AR components (that doesn't cost $3k+) I partially understand being upset with the delay. What I don't understand is why some of you are ready to throw in the towel so quickly and demanding refunds or threatening to go to complain to gov't. Maybe I'm wrong but the receivers will get to your hands eventually, so why y'all so pissed?

By the sounds of it most of you guys must be employees and have no business experience. I have no problem PIF because starting a business like this is incredibly costly and needs capital to move forward.

If you need a NR centre fire rifle THAT BAD there are other options already on the market. However, based on how up in arms some of you are about $1000 upfront then those options probably won't suit your budget either. So maybe just act your wage, buy an SKS and slap a tapco stock on it.

Maybe ill eat my words later and y'all can say I told you so but until then ill stick with Maccabee

'Cause it's CGN and zomg, something got delayed! Shocking. This has never happened before. /ragequit. I'd rather they got it right a few months down the road than meet a deadline and have a product I'm going to be unhappy with. I'm like you, Stub. I run a business. Waiting sucks but stuff happens. The Maccabee guys aren't doing high fives in the warehouse over the delay.

If you look back in this thread, you'll see that anyone with any manufacturing knowledge called their estimated delivery estimates unrealistically ambitious. This isn't any slagging of the company, just the unpredictable nature of manufacturing of a new product.

My initial estimate of late summer, early fall, still stands.

I didn’t get an email. I ordered from CSC. Any updates from CSC?

From CSC's info thread...

Latest update: Some minor changes to the final design has necessitated another minor delay. MDI is now estimating large scale production will be delayed until end May. However they will have some prototypes send out for inspection and trial before then. We regret this delay but it certainly looks like the final product will be worth the wait.
As always, those with pre orders are free to cancel and receive a full refund at any time.

Sorry, didn't know this one was only $100 deposit. Not as bad with minimal risk but I still refuse to do pre-orders. I have six other NR semi's so I'm not worried about having to wait if I don't get the first one off the assembly line.
I'm waiting for known quality with the MV-s but so far the pics of this one look pretty good.

I've also bought a new barrel and have all the rest of the parts to build it sitting in the bin. Then again I've probably got enough parts to complete a couple rifles if I had a receiver set to put them into, lol.

Never trust an "estimated release date" they never deliver as promised.

The date was an estimate. There's no guarantee implied.

As long as it is here for people to go hunting this year......does it really matter if you have to wait a bit?

People put $100 down....whoop whoop.

Some already have everything for it.....you were going to buy it anyway, so it isn't money wasted.

I would rather have a great product that took 3 months longer than expected....than have them pump out crap just to make a deadline.

However.....if they are revamping it, the pre-orders should be coming with the takedown pin, not the bolts......

Would be nice if they were released before the laws change and the RCMP change their minds about classification or at least before they make the retailers add your name to "the registry".

As for hunting, I couldn't care less, I have a hunting rifle, these are toys.

You're right though, better to make people wait a little longer and put out a quality product rather than BCL it.

Only way the registration would be an issue is if this takes a year to come out. By the time they push this through all the channels and it actually becomes "law".....it will be at least Dec if not Jan next year.
