Maccabee NRR 308

good and timely post.
I get too pissed off to even express here how disturbed I am at the underhanded blow the turdo regime has inflicted on good hard working canadians just trying to make an honest buck in this world. I kinda saw the writing on the wall when turd got elected the first time and shelved my plans to get truly serious about setting my new shop up for full time m14/M1 garand composite rifle stock production as well as some very cool AR15 and AR 10 type composite components. It was a good call on my part as I refrained from making that considerable investment in materials and fixtures. I find myself forced onto disability by my doctors and could really use the self employment income that my stock making passion provides but it's all geared to firearms that are prohibitted now so what's the point? I've thought about switching gears to hunting rifle stocks for popular actions but I'm having a hard time convincing the wife that I should make that investment in action tooling and new prototyping and molds....... phuckin trudeau ...... reprehensible little prick
I wanted to file my own court challenge but I am not gonna run a gofundme LOL so I will donate to the challenges as my budget permits and buy canadian made whenever an option is presented.
I got loads of respect for any canadian outfit attempting to make a go under these circumstances that's for sure.

Well said. Any small business owner in the gun industry has cojones (or taco) of steel, that's for sure

This was my intended purpose for a semi, but I never received my Stag 10, because of the ban.

I'd look at a receiver set and having a build ready for next year's season, if they don't suck.

I’m thinking about it. They say delivery Dec/Jan, lets hope they’re Accurate this time.

On the fence between this one and the renegade. I like the design of this more but 223 parts are more readily available. And the renegade is out now. Hmmmmm.

Any updates on these recievers? Seems like they are going to be a bit more convenient than the maverick when it comes to accessing your bolt assembly. Still havnt seen any reviews on them yet.

I picked one up. Like the SLR, tolerances were extremely tight due to the thick cerakote. The two halves had to be tapped loose with a rubber mallet and the mag well wouldn't take plastic mags without some polishing. Also, the selector switch needed to be worked in. Other than that I like the design much better than the Maverick in looks and feel. Can't wait to shoot it.

can anyone elaborate on the design differences between the Maccabee and the Maverick. I've notice a few comments that some like the design much better than the Maverick in looks and feel. How can you compare if you haven't handled and shot both ?

So i'm not trying to stir the pot into a mess , I genuinely would like to know what the differences between the two are and what makes one better than the other?
I am okay with tight tolerances so other than that.... help a guy make an informed decision because I am not just gonna go buy a maccabee because jerry at mystic precision did hehehe
Personally , I'm leaning towards the MRA product as I like the look and it has a last shot bolt hold open. Otherwise I see no esthetic or functional reason to go with the maccabee so as you can see I am on the fence

The biggest one is the macabee buffer tube is connect to the lower where the maverick is the upper. So with the maverick you have to remove the buffer tube to remove the bolt

Does the NRR still use a buffer spring for return assistance, like the Maverick?

I chose the Macabee because the stock is mounted to the lower and makes cleaning easier. Got it together and will update my post once I get some lead down range.

First impressions is some good, some not. Does have a bolt open feature... all the needed parts transfered over from my BCL but you need a DPMS specific handguard and nut. didn't even try to reuse the BCL stuff as I hate the 2 nut set up.

Spoiler... aftermarket triggers like the Timney do not drop in... need fitting.

If anyone has a spare buffer spring stop and stop spring, please let me know... can't find mine.

Jerry

Thanx for that info
Ya being able to access the bolt for cleaning is a pretty major plus.
gonna have to rethink this before I purchase

Is the Mac def nrr assisted bolt in any way…is it spring assisted? Can you lock the bolt back?
Also m looking to convert my bcl. I have a Midwest industries handguard and barrel nut. I’m guessing I’ll need a new barrel nut as the bcl was armalite barrel nut if I remember correctly

Got motivated by Jerry's build so after weeks of pondering I went ahead and bit the bullet.....308win with 16" barrel...can't wait to get it on the range;)
