I went through the common 30/50 mounts that I know of, and checked bmgparts.com. Nothing so far looks exactly like it, especially with the rearward cant… are there any numbers on it at all?

Love the stuff in the compound picture background. That is one very well thought out vehicle mounting system with the swing arm and all, certainly predates RWS and I suspect the Israelis where influenced by their use of WWII half tracks in this design.

The picture is from the storage yard at Latrune (SP)
A most amazing place and even some WW II German armour there.
Armour that captured from the Egyptians during the 6 Day War that the British gave them after WW II

Not doubting you about the Egyptian connection but I believe they have some X-Wehrmacht/Syrian armour like a Stug and Mk3. Funny enough, traveling in Israel/Latrun are on my "bucket list" of things to do/see.

Plan your day at latrune carefully.
They close early on Fridays and other religious holidays.
Take extra memory cards, water and a good hat.
It is an amazing place.
It is huge, hot and dry.
There are some great military and arms museums in Israel, but again plan your days carefully.
Some will require advance notice to get "into the back room" so to speak.
The Alyalon Institute (Ayalon Underground Bullet Factory) is one place that likes some advance notice if you want to see the underground ammunition factory.

The Egyptians got most of their equipment from the Czechs, with and without Soviet involvement. Whatever the British had let the Egyptians have under Farouk, they regretted under Nasser. On the other hand, Nasser wanted to buy weapons from the West and get financing for the Aswan High Dam. John Foster Dulles and the Americans put the kaybosh on that and drove Nasser into the arms of the Soviets. They flip-flopped around so many times no one knew what they were doing. After stabbing the British, French and Israelis in the back over Suez, Dulles turned around a few years later and said "your were right about Suez". Total ----g amateurs.
