I was in the need for a 338 Ruger Compact Magnum Lee crimp die. As my rounds like to grow a little in the blind magazine under recoil, with the compressed load I'm running.
Lee currently does not make that die, although they probably custom make it. Instead I bought a 338 win mag factory crimp die, and took 0.485" of the die body, and the same off the inner collet. The difference between the two cartridges. I also had to bore out 0.025" off the inside of the collet, up to where it's split, to accomodate for the fatter cartridge case.
All and all, it turned out perfectly. I now have a 338 RCM Lee factory crimp die, for $17.95, plus about 5 min work on the lathe.
