Made in canada vs made in china

Are all the parts for the Canadian 3.5 (Dlask) made in Canada? Or are they imported parts that are assembled? Not knocking, just have no idea...

I do try to make an effort to buy Canadian, but it is extremely difficult now a days... and its not just that its from China either, its just that most of what we get are "knock offs"...

If you think screwing yourself out of $550 bucks is somehow screwing the Chinese then methinks you really need to have a quiet time to think about world economics. :D

Probably will get 12.5'' barrel from DLASK and a complete 8.5'' from Dominon Arms.
Someone needs to make a holster for these 8.5'' handcannons... :D
 
I would think the Remingtons that DLASK is selling are not made in Canada only the barrels are . Good for them. But doing the MADE IN CANADA OR MADE IN CHINA thing here, just doesn't quite fit .

8.5" Chinese = NOT available , yet .
12.5" Chinese = $399.00 .
At least this is how I got it figured , ymmv .

They said they were going to, and for around $200, but with just a regular tube magazine (2+1 shells), not the detatchable pistol style magazine (5+1?) the canam one will have. Of course they anounced it in september, but just kind of got really quiet about it, I believe they were afraid they'd end up importing them and not being able to sell them. They said they needed to be sure of moving about 1500 units, and only felt the market wanted a small fraction of that.
 
I know $500 is not going to affect the world economy or China's for that matter...I just think that for some of us it is worth it just to thumb our noses at those freedom hating commies.

but $500.00 will affect my economy, but if you really think that thumbing your nose is worth $500.00, please feel free to pay the full $900.00. For me, I am just going to save the $900,00 and not thumb anyone....or..... maybe by not...I am thumbing both:confused::confused:
 
$500 saving is a false economy, i can't afford $500 any more then you can, when your Norinco breaks down or falls apart due to shoddy workmanship, where is the economy in that? i know, I know what about the pride of ownership in a Norinco? 'nuff said!!
 
I have never had a firearm made in China. However the other products I have which where made in the same place were not too high quality practically with no exception. With a firearm there is a risk involved that the thing will blow up in my hands. I think I would rather pay more money then take that risk. Kinda insurance money.. If I can not afford the insurance money, then I would rather not buy at all..
 
Please only buy "made in Canada" shotguns , but please tell us which ones they are, cause Lakefield and Cooey aren't making shotguns here anymore. And I don't believe Remington has ever . Hey wasn't everyone mad at Remington a while back because some Remington CEO said they didn't care about the Canadian shooter it was too small a market.
 
The other thing is which price more closely reflects the market? I can get a remington express for $400-500ish, with 2 standard length barrels in just about any shop. A 12.5" or 8" barrel takes what, 1/4 less metal than I'd get with the Express combo? I think a $500 premium for a shorter metal tube might be milking us a bit, so I lean toward whoever has more realistic pricing, in tune with the market.

The quality of goods made in China has improved exponentially over the last 10-15 years, but if you insist on avoiding all Chinese goods, the choice is yours... Walmart, Canadian Tire, Costco, most clothing stores, and most electronics are now off limits.

Where a more locally made product can compete is with better service, but that goes out the window when pricing makes it logical to buy 2 of the imported items for less than one of the local, and the importer is know to provide customer service at a similar standard.
 
$350.00 keeps workers enslaved in China while $900.00 keeps a Canadian company in the black. We don't need to be concerned with world economics, but perhaps we should think about what our dollars support.
