Okay, it's not too bad, i'm happy with it, but i doubt many people would share the same opinion on it's appearance
haha... Ah well, it's just a junky yugo stock that's cracked in a couple places anyways, I can probably get a nice german one from marstar (i hope).
Well, long story short, i didnt have any steel wool, so i used a brass wire wheel attached to a drill (don't try this, unless you are intentionally going for that rough beachwood look lol). Then i finished it up with two light coats of wood stain (sedona red 222).
It appears to change colors as i move it in the light, most likely due to its rough exterior, that vaguely resembles the wrinkles on a walnut (except going with the grain).

btw, I'm curious... anyone interested in mg42 receiver stampings? They would be expensive for sure, but could be used to make a wicked 1:1 scale clone or perhaps used to mock up a 10/22
. Not regulated by CFC, already checked it out with them via fax
. Umm, if so send me a pm, lets keep this thread about the stock massacre!
edit: yeah this thing is an abomination, i gotta sand it smooth and re-finish it... I'll go out and buy the necessary materials when i need this thing, for now it can sit in a box in my closet.
