A flintlock pistol made today - is it a prescribed antique or a restricted firearm?

My reading of the CFC stuff is that it is a restricted firearm.

The rules say that firearms prescribed as antique firearms in the Criminal Code regulations are, among others, black powder reproductions of flintlock...firearms, other than handguns, manufactured after 1897.

So, I know that my flintlock rifle is a prescribed antique, with all that that implies.

BUT, the rules say "other than handguns". It seems pretty clear to me that a modern made flintlock pistol is, therefore, NOT a prescribed antique but a restricted firearm.

Am I right in this?

Oh, and everyone enjoy their Christmas dinner. Thanks guys.
