HaVe an sks and looking for something else to play with, Since I have a regular pal license I'm limited to the cz variant, what options are they available with? Are the magazines pinned to 5 as well or are they made that way?

The CZ858 is more accurate & IMO easier to clean. I have both & you'll love it. Mags are 30 rounds, pinned to 5. They don't "come with"many options but there's plenty of after market goodies. Check our Wolverine & others. Buy one, you won't regret it! :cheers:
 
There are also 10 round mags, pinned to 5 of course.

It's a more practical setup for hunting, but it does not look as cool as the big mags!
 
Yup, theyre addictive. Like meth. The CZ-858 is available with a fixed stock or folding stock and they come with 4 mags, a mag pouch, cleaning kit, sling and bayonet. When it comes to aftermarket parts, it is nothing like the SKS. No cheap chinese junk for these rifles, mostly CNC machined Canadian Bacon, some of which is sold by major US companies and even used by armed forces around the world. Take that, NC Star. But seriously, run out and get one. You wont regret it, you'll just find yourself lost wondering where all your money went
 
I'm looking at getting a non restricted CSA vz58 as soon as I can find a store that has one. Seems everyone and their dog has the restricted version:p
 
Love mine, but hate cleaning after. Gotta buy some non- corrosive, the cleaning is just getting old .
 
Bought one recently and I'm impressed with the quality.

I'll be switching out some parts for a more tacticool approach. I'm really wanting to get out into the bush to compare it's abilities to the ar platform.

I figured that much but thanks anyway for pointing out the obvious.

But a firearm's classification under the eyes of the law has no bearing on it's said 'superiority' over another.

The AR is a range-only toy.
The CZ-585 (non-restricted) is both a range toy and a pig/moose/whatever plinker.

Big deal.
 
I am surprised that they(the smart people of Wolverine an others) haven't tried to get in a 10 round pistol mag for this. I mean, there already is a VERY short barrel/compact version of the Vz58/858, just as there are compact versions for the AR and XCR, for which a 10 round pistol mag is available.
