Made up my mind to get a cz 858

I'm looking at getting a non restricted CSA vz58 as soon as I can find a store that has one. Seems everyone and their dog has the restricted version

i have a csa and i love mine. great little coyote gun with a posp scope

Got a 858 non-restricted.... just for the fact I can take it anywhere.... I fell in love with it the day I got it. I don't want to change nothing on it. Its perfect the way it is...imho.....

I have 3 CZ858s. They feel better in my hands than my Classic Green. They are perfectly balanced, simple and robust. You can't go wrong having one.

Can you shoot with the factory stock folded up? is the balance affected? Groupings the same?

Get the fixed model and pick-up a folding stock for 45 bucks. You can swap back and fourth.

That's fine if you only plan to shoot it at a certified/registered range. If you want to take it out anywhere else (to have tons of fun) then NON-restricted is the only way to fly!

Having a restricted doesn't mean you cant shoot in the bush (with non restricted guns)

It is a fairly lightweight balanced rifle. Much, much lighter then my XCR. Although the XCR kills it in accuracy imo.

in calgary u can pick them up at the TSE, online u can get them at One shot tactical, Gp tactical, ect ect ect.

His point is that its better in the bush because you aren't allowed to take an AR into the bush. No flames needed, it's a no-contest.

Nevermind that a CZ-858 is typically almost 20oz. lighter than an AR of the same length.

I am surprised that they(the smart people of Wolverine an others) haven't tried to get in a 10 round pistol mag for this. I mean, there already is a VERY short barrel/compact version of the Vz58/858, just as there are compact versions for the AR and XCR, for which a 10 round pistol mag is available.

Pretty sure wolverine did try and they were told "no."

I love my cz858. You can shoot it with the folded stock, folded. Its just a bit harder to have any sort of cheek weld, thus its not going to group like when you have the stock to brace against.

That said, its fun to shoot folded if you are just having some fun with your crew/family etc. Everyone I have shot mine with likes to try it folded at least once, sometimes from the hip. Just make sure you are being intelligent about where you are shooting.

I find the length of pull, weight and balance on mine is perfect, IMO.

I bought my HG's and PG from them and have a second order on the way. They've been good so far, like buying off any other site. Their prices are way better than local too, 68 bucks for HG's oppose to $100 local with free shipping on most stuff
