I've gotten my sorry butt back to the local IPSC matches and I'm having a great year so far. I've started dry firing in my basement again and I do believe it is helping with my draws and my reloads, just like it used to when I used to do it regularly.
To do this right, I've made up some cardboard targets for use during dry fire.
I first made up some full scale mini classic targets. I have two sets of two hanging on the wall (I really like those 3M command hooks because I can always get them off the wall without causing damage). The mini classics at the distance I have them hanging gives me a sight picture almost exactly the same as some of the target arrays we shot at the AMA Spring Bang.
I also just made up some 1/3 scale Classic targets and some 1/2 scale mini poppers and 1/3 scale poppers. I haven't figured out where they'll go but I'll find a place.

The scoring zones are marked with thin pencil lines. I put them on to help me remember where 'centre of mass' should be and I do not find them distracting at all. If I get tired of them I'll just flip the targets over.
Future plans include figuring some way to rig up a mini swinger in my basement for practice. I'm thinking small PVC pipe and fittings, if I can find them at the local hardware stores.
Cheers all,
