Has anybody used that "Lite Light"?
(It's a thingy that replaces your tube cap and holds a mini-maglite, instead of the conventional way of mounting a light on your shotgun)

I'd like to add a light to my Norc 870, but I'd like to keep the number of widgets and attachments hanging off the thing to a minimum.

I'm wondering if anybody has had any success with it, or if there are similar (and better) products out there.

I had one of the LED maglite's on my Benelli M4 before my Surefire 6P LED Defender, and it took mabey 3 or 4 shots of 00 buckshot, and the maglight was toast.

It might survive, but who knows.

I like the idea of having the flashlight in the tube magazine area, but just remember, you are either:

A: limiting capacity.

or

B: having the light poke out the end.

If I was you, i'd get the Insight Technologies flashlight adaptor, and a flashlight clamp. I know wolverine can get the Maglite rail mounts from Command Arms Accessories, and im not 100% sure, but it SHOULD mount onto the glock style accessory rail of the ITI shotgun tube adaptor.

Or you can get something like an M3 light, instead of the maglite later on...

The CAA mini maglite adaptor is 20 or 30 bucks I think.

Personally, I would go with a Nordic or Mesa barrel/magtube mount, and then you can put whatever kind of picatinny mounted flashlight on, that you want ;)

Tactical Shotgunner sells both the Mesa or Nordic barrel clamps, and the ITI shotgun tube clamp, and they will ship to Canada :)

Cool, thanks for the advice. I guess recoil is a considerable factor for a light not specifically designed for it... poor maglite. :(

That M3 light looks pretty good, and the surefire forend might work as well, although it's getting up there in cost.

Fenix makes some good lights that are reasonably priced and some are gun rated...they also sell mounts so you can attach the light onto a rail.
You can buy fore ends with rails or attach your own.
Streamlight makes a cheap one that mounts between the barrel lug and your mag cap.
I'd buy a good flashlight that you can use for regular use and an adaptor to put onto your shotgun....seems more practical then a design that is specific to guns.
